A woodpecker birdhouse is a great way to stop woodpeckers from pecking your house and desirable trees!
These birds absolutely love these birdhouses and chances are, if you set one up, that’s where they’ll be. This is a very effective means to getting rid of woodpeckers.
- Pros – Beautiful finish, predator guard, woodchips included, hand crafted, and easy to install.
- Cons – Woodpeckers will still be around your property.
- Guarantee – Must contact manufacturer for warranty information.
You will know if you’re a prime candidate for this method of removing woodpeckers if these birds were attacking your house or property for shelter purposes. You can find this out by visiting the Why Woodpeckers Peck page.
Setting up a woodpecker birdhouse in close proximity to a woodpecker suet feeder will give the woodpecker both food and shelter. What more could it want? This is an especially effective means to deterring woodpeckers from attacking your property.
Throw a cake in the suet feeder every few days and watch them shack up right next to it in this birdhouse.
This particular house is geared toward Hairy, Red-headed and Red-bellied Woodpeckers. Although I’ve seen Downy Woodpeckers gravitate toward it as well.
If you want a birdhouse specifically designed for Downy Woodpeckers, you can check this woodpecker birdhouse out as well.
Both houses have predator guards installed around the entrance to prevent animals from attacking the woodpeckers in their home.
I highly recommend using a woodpecker birdhouse if you’re looking for a humane and easy way to get these woodpeckers off your back.
It is an ideal strategy for living in symbiosis with these birds. Give them food and shelter and they are sure to leave you alone.
Stop woodpeckers from pecking your house for good and give them a woodpecker birdhouse!

I love how you explained that by putting a birdhouse up with a feeder you can stop woodpeckers from pecking your house. Birds are cool but no one a bird to start destroying their house so a birdhouse is a peaceful solution. Thanks for this harmless idea of how to stop woodpeckers from harming your house.
I’m glad you found this information useful!
Woodpeckers can be pretty picky when it comes to their home. They prefer to nest deep down below the cavity they create. That is why these deep birdhouses are so ideal for them. They also have the benefit of having the predator guard to protect them.
Woodpeckers peck for many reasons. These houses would not destroy their ability to peck. It would simply help people to prevent damage to their homes from woodpeckers that were pecking solely for shelter.
I never would have even considered this solution. I guess it makes sense because if the woodpeckers have a home they will not need to build one. But why do you need these specific Woodpecker Houses? Why would a normal bird house not work?
Also, don’t the birds peck naturally? Wouldn’t the houses eventually destroy their natural ability to peck over time?
Really great review! I wouldn’t have thought that this would solve the problem because I don’t know much about woodpeckers, but now it totally makes sense. I enjoyed the post and the site, and hope for more posts. Keep up the good work with all your posts and site and recommendations!
I’m going to relay this information to my father who has a bad woodpecker problem. He was thinking about ding this but now this confirms it.
Your site is so informative! Thank you!
I’m glad I was able to point your father in the right direction. Using a woodpecker birdhouse is a great way to shelter these birds while keeping them away from your home!
Best of luck!
